Biondi winery was born at the end of the 19th century and reached its peak at the beginning of the 20th century thanks to the commitment of its manager Salvatore Biondi and to the vine-growing expertise of his brother Cirino (Ciro Biondi’s grandfather), who, together with another producer, founded BIONDI & LANZAFAME company. Under this name the company took part in various exhibitions and fairs and won various prizes and medals, including Casalmonferato 1913, Paris 1914, Lyon 1914, Cuneo 1914, Milan 1914, and it was listed in “GRANDE LIBRO D'ORO”. In that period, BIONDI & LANZAFAME wines were exported to Europe and the United States. After the end of the Second World War the farm faced a period of decline, due to their failure to adopt modern technologies and the post-war new market.
Ciro and Stef Biondi started to operate in 1999 and renovated their family vineyards with the aim of making these wonderful places revive again. The only way to achieve their goal was to produce high-quality wines to make this activity sustainable. From this commitment and consistent work OUTIS, GURNA, M.I. were born, and their reputation as excellent wines is recognized all over the world. Now a new chapter begins:
- 3 vineyards looked after by the Biondis since the 17th century that we have got to know over these years.
- 3 vineyards and 3 Crus from which a limited number of bottles is produced, and which are the expression of 3 “terroirs" very closed in terms of space but distant from each other in terms of characters and tasting notes.

Chianta vineyard has an eastern exposure and stretches for approximately one hectare where terraced bushes of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and white grape varieties including Minnella and Carricante are grown
